Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
Send a PM to TXFirefighter. He's the only guy I know for sure that has a C30 square dually w/3 pedals & is under these trucks enough to know if the manual trans x-member is different.

Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
I can get you pics of my manual trans crossmember, but I can't vouch for it being the same as an auto crossmember. It looks just like a typical auto crossmember though.

Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
should be the same. only difference I know of is the year difference between the short and tall foot on the 4x4 stuff. diff crossmember for short and tall.

Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
I'd suspect you should measure the height of the crossmember webs. Literature says the r30 trucks have taller frames than other trucks.

Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
I was under a 91 3500 with a 350 and a 4 speed
Looked very similar. Without a tape measure I couldn't be a 100% Im using a 3/4 ton x member in my 1/2 ton. Had to notch the center for the mount. Made room to tuck 3" dual exhaust.

Re: 1987 r30 trans crossmember
This is correct. The extensions from the base x-member are taller to compensate for the C20/C30 frame rails that are 2" taller. I used an aftermarket C10 x-member & had to add 2" to the height where it attaches to the rails.
