Re: Anyone have a rollpan with a rear bumper ?
I have a TF and wanted a roll pan but didn't think the stock bumper was the look I wanted, so I made some out of 2x3 .120 wall tubing. The long side of the tubing is like a triangle so it sort of has the frenched look but I did not cut the roll pan. Took 2 roll pans as I did cut the first one but that's a story for another day.

Re: Anyone have a rollpan with a rear bumper ?
I made new brackets for my original rear bumper. It's now as high up and close in as possible. And upside down! What do you think about that? Does it look alright or schould I change it?

Re: Anyone have a rollpan with a rear bumper ?
The previous owner of my '51 included a roll pan and he had added 2 backup lights about 8 inches apart in the center of the pan - I think the upside down '54 bumper would work nice like that on my truck - thinking there is also space for a trailer hitch under there -
thanks for helping with the decision ! Don |

Re: Anyone have a rollpan with a rear bumper ?
The only downside to my eye is how wide the bumper makes the rear of the truck look and the space between the fenders and the tailgate, but it does look way better moved closer to the body. The upside is it certainly gives you much better protection. I wonder what it would look like if you sectioned that bumper so the corners wrapped around at the stake pocket and trimmed the ends so they ended at the fender. And then,(I don't know what you would do with the license plate) have four 2 1/2" polished exhaust tips exiting in that relief, a la Ferrari. Just thinking....

Re: Anyone have a rollpan with a rear bumper ?
Jonzon: LOVE the look of the upside down (correct way) bumper, I have always thought that Chevy had put the bumper upside down from the factory. Thanks for the picture, now I know I will be doing this mod to my truck when I get there.
