Autometer gauge install?

I need some inspiration/ideas. Going to run Autometer phantom gauges and I could use some opinions on how to mount them in a factory '80 bezel. I can't decide if I like them behind or in front of the bezel better. Pictures would be great. Thank you

Re: Autometer gauge install?

Search for "Jeff + gauges" ---> he sells a set of brackets that mount the gauges behind the cluster. My '87 thread has lots of pics of his bracket set done in my cluster

Re: Autometer gauge install?

I was in my jegs catalog yesterday and on the front says that they have a bezel made for aftermarket gauges now so no cutting required. Something to look into?

Re: Autometer gauge install?

Can't find any old pics; but I tried both ways to mount them years ago with auto meter sport comp. gauges- Mounted on the bezel I found them to be on a downward angle and did not really like it then I installed them in a modified cluster housing where the factory gauges mount and it looked alot more gooder! Just like cal30_sniper's thread on here-
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=6457532 looks very clean & nice.
