Aftermarket bed sides

First off ,my first post so Hello all. Anyway ,I have a 71 C10 2wd short bed(cut down LB)I chose to buy new bed sides from LMC instead of cutting mine. I thought it would be more cost effective and my bed was in great shape ,no rust and no dents. Seemed a shame to cut up good fenders somebody could use if they wanted to keep a LB. But some bolt holes don't line up on the new fenders. Normal for overseas repop parts? Any of you use these fenders before? Thanks

Re: Aftermarket bed sides

Welcome to the board !!! I have a pair for my bed, but the body shop will be installing them. Here's a link to another thread about repop bed parts.

Re: Aftermarket bed sides

I have yet to have any of those but have had plenty of experience with aftermarket parts. When I first built my of brand truck I used after market and you would find that part like fenders that didn't have to have inner pieces welded to them much like the full grown trucks have always had, the parts would be ok as far as the fit and the holes lining up. But if it was a inner and outer made and then welded together for get it. You might as well get out the drill and make you own holes. They are much better now though. I have heard good things about them. It is normal for the holes to be off a little, but if they all are you may have a problem. did you cut the long floor down to the short floor length? That is the answer if your answer is yes the holes are not exactly the same spots for shorts and longs. Jim

Re: Aftermarket bed sides

Jim,I did cut the floor to SB length ,and see two holes that are different ,the ones I am talkin' about are the wheel well lower corners where the bed side, wheel well and floor all come together. I have to grind out about 1/4 inch or so for the bolts to go through all four corners.(the middle where I didn't cut)
Not a big deal ,just wondering if something is wrong with my bed floor/wells or just not real great quality sides. My floor and wheel wells are in great shape ,so it would be hard to believe anything wrong there. I guess I'm just wondering what to expect as I keep buying aftermarket parts.
