Some help with fuel line to Edelbrock carb?

OK, up until now I have been pretty embarrassed to show pics of my engine bay. For those of you who think, "it's not bad" keep in mind I have major OCD about things like this (I know the M/C looks like trash and needs to come out). But the biggest concern below is my fuel line:


Now, obviously the rubber has to go. I want to get a hard line with an inline fuel filter (then braided down to the pump). The question is what size fitting goes on to the fuel pump? I have heard that I should adapt it to -6 AN and yada yada yada. But there are a bunch of people all saying different things as far as what fits the original pump perfectly. I hear 3/8 IF, 3/8 NPT, 5/8 NPT so which one is it?

Then there is the question of whether or not to use both fuel inlets. The driver's side inlet is blocked off and the truck runs fine. Is there any benefit to getting the twin line kit? I will be using the factory air cleaner assembly so my air flow will be *somewhat* restricted even with a K&N drop-in. Thoughts?

Edelbrock makes everything you need from the fuel pump to carb, just search ebay, that's where I got mine....

Yeah... Problem with that setup is that I would have to buy that pump and I'm trying to keep it as original as possible. From what I've researched, stock is not an option for that black flex line.

I might just do brake line up to the fuel filter. Still wondering about the thread size on the pump

So you're running a stock fuel pump without a pressure regulator to that Edelbrock carb?

thats what I was thinking about the regulator. You either need an edelbrock pump or put an inline regulator in. If worried about "stock" appearance run a Quadrajet. Otherwise get some 3/8 by -6 fittings and some braided hose

$ 0.02 I am running a 1406 Eddy on a stock pump. So far no issues on two different trucks, one SBC and one BBC. Maybe I am just lucky.

It seems to vary from one set-up to another. I had a stock pump behind mine and it kept flooding it. The eddy pump fixed it right up.

Already did the research on that. Only people who are having problems with the fuel boiling are the ones using the stock manifold. I drove this for 5 hours straight the day I brought it home, no problems at all. This setup was already there but I would have used this anyways... Every SBC I have ever owned has had an Edelbrock manifold but not having the steel line is a first for me. A little line bending was all I needed in the past.

That's some nice work you did there. I'm beginning to uncover some of the ghetto rigging in this truck. Mostly nothing too bad... but the fuel line is the original bottom piece cut off and clamped to rubber hose. And the guy used RTV to make a gasket on the manifold where the upper hose connects. So I need to address those two things before I decide what to take apart next.

Steel fuel line is the way it came from the factory. I bent my own 3/8" steel fuel line using a tubing bender, and a double flare tool. I have an Edlebrock intake with a Holley carb. Carter "street" pump that looks completely stock. No flashy chrome pump.

I found that the FPC69NNS is a bolt-on, pre-bent stainless fuel line from stock pump to Edelbrock carb. Only thing is that I will have to cut and flare in order to install a filter... and would be a great time to check what kind of pressure I'm getting through that line.

I have an Edelbrock 1406 and a electric fuel pump with no pressure regulator, been working fine for 3 years now.
