1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
Well, I have been lurking on the forum for a while now. I learned a lot about these trucks looking for answers to issues that I was having while working on my 1970 CST10.
So, finally got a few photos of the ol truck to show off a little. It's a 70 CST10 LWB with a 462 Ci engine. Mild cam, etc. Dealt with the motor, suspension, wiring, gauges, etc, etc. I really enjoy the ol truck. |

I like the LWB with the tool box. It's got work written all over it.

Re: 1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
Thanks. I just put a little 2/3 drop on it. Body and paint were in good shape when I bought it last April. Got it all together just in time for cruisin the coast in Mississippi. I've got a few compliments on it. It will roast the tire as long as I hold the pedal. Lol. It's fun to drive.

Toolbox comes in handy for chairs and other car show stuff. I lead it laying around so I put it in and decided to leave it for the extra storage space.

Nice truck! You know you can't mention a 462 cubic inch engine and not post a few pics, right?

Re: 1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
I will post some photos of the engine soon. Got to upload from my phone to the computer. Dyno tested at 379 RWTQ/ 342 RWHP. Estimated engine without drivetrain losses are 425HP/475TQ all at or below 4500 RPMs, Mild cam, 770 avenger carb, stock heads, air gap rpm intake, turbo350 tranny, 1800 stall, 3.08 rear gears. All adds up to 12 MPG around town.

Where did you get your bumper from? I like how the bottom tapers up toward the ends.

A photo of the engine. Not much too look at. Wish I would have had the funds to do more to it but didn't want to tear up the resend and tranny with too much HP.

Re: 1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
The bumper is made by Mr Bumper. I forget the model number. I like it because I have a spot to step on to get into the truck without opening the tailgate.

Re: 1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
The bumper on this truck is most likely off of a 1988 and up GM truck. I know this because of it being just slightly to narrow to reach all the way out to the bed body panel surface.
Nothing wrong with it but is just slightly to narrow. If You could find one that was made for a 1987 and older (square body style) they are wide enough to reach out just past the bed panel surface. The big problem with any of the step bumper like that they are not rated for very much weight for towing. There still needs to be a receiver hitch for pulling trailers of substantial size/weight.

Re: 1970 Chevy CST10 LWB Photos Finally
I do believe you are right. It is slightly narrow to the body.
