Need Some Advice On 5 Speed

Good morning everyone!!!! I have a WC 5 speed and I am restoring my 72 c-10 with the factory 350 and I am thinking about putting this 5 speed in and not the 3 speed that was in there from the factory. Can anyone tell me where would be a good place to take my 5 speed to and let them rebuild it. I know some people say they are transmission men but I need someone that has a good reputation. Thanks

Here are some videos to help ou decide if the DIY rebuild is for you.
Look up Auto Resto Mod, either on You tube or www.Autorestomod.com

Episode(s) 136, 137 and 138 deal with the T-5.
Yes I know its a furd site , but a T-5 is a mainstay of the fox body stang crowd.

Re: Need Some Advice On 5 Speed

I too plan on a T-5 swap to remove the 3ott in one of my 70's. The truck has a 327 that I will be adding a Edelbrock carb and intake to and a HEI and I have both T-5, a Camaro and a S-10 to make a hybird to put the shifter in a better spot. I also have a shaved van tilt that I filled in the shifter holes and places left open when it was stripped so now finished it looks like a factory floor shift tilt column. I think you will be very happy with the T-5 in the truck a lot of people on here have done the swap and are really happy with it. Jim

Have you got any photos of your truck, What gear rearend do you have? Mine has the 373 and I think the T-5 is not good for the first gear ratio but I am not sure.
