heat blows out all the holes

When I turn my heat on it doesn't Matter what setting I put it on it comes out of every air opening. The fan speed works great but not the selector. It's an 86 with factory ac. Any suggestions?

Kind of sounds like your blend door may not by closing or opening all the way. Pull the glove box door off and look back underneath. You will be able to see the controls on the box. While truck running look in there and at the same time move the selector. While moving that selector see what it is doing under the dash. The piece of all thread may have come out of the white plastic clip that moves the blend door. Also make sure your vacuum line that controls that is hooked up and you don't have any breaks in it. Make sure it is hooked up on the engine as well. It runs through the firewall from the engine to inside the cab.

Bet it's the clip. Shipping will cost you more than the part. Just a couple of screws to remove and you can see if it's broken or not. More than likely the arm still moves and the clip is broken.

If the arm doesn't move and the clip isn't broken, you most likely have a bad diaphragm. That's a sucky job. Whole heater box has to come out to fix that.

Re: heat blows out all the holes

I just had the same problem with my 85. It was the little plastic piece on the blend door. Classic parts has the part for $2.49. Part #68-248

LOL! Love it. I would post a joke here but don't want to get in trouble. It's not dirty but could be mis construed that way.
