Babbitt Rods

A friend of mine owns a Pontiac Buick GMC dealership. It's been in his family for generations. I was helping him go through some old parts in his warehouse and we found a bunch of NOS babbitt rods. I have a babbitt 216 that does not need rebuilt now but a spare set would be nice to have just in case. What are the interchangeability of these? What years? I'm going to his shop Friday and will look closer at them and get a part number. They may be for a Buick or Pontiac too, but I don't know a thing about those old motors. They may be spare parts for Chevy that the service department had on hand.

Re: Babbitt Rods

I found this web site that has the dimensions for the Chevy 216 rod.

http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/359.cfm

It looks like it has engine specs for other vintage cars , so you can do a comparison.

Re: Babbitt Rods

Awesome. That's really all that's needed I guess. I didn't even think of checking dimensions to verify. I'll have to bring a caliper.
