What bastard u-joint do i need?

i recently installed my 69-70 12 bolt 3.08 in my 64'. the truck had a 70's-80's 10 bolt in it. How can i find out the size of the bastard joint? so i can hook up the newer smaller drive shaft up to the older rear end

Re: What bastard u-joint do i need?

you just have to know the sizes and get the conversion joint that meets the measurements.
width of the joint, diameter of the cup and inside or outside clips.

Re: What bastard u-joint do i need?

Give me cap diameters and also need to know if grooved or just a plain cap. Looking it up by application, 60-81 all take a precision 369 joint and mid 80's is a 534g. This would make it a precision #372. Driveshaft side is 1.125" grooved and rear end side is 1.063" plain. Hope this helps

That's the same one I used to put my TH350C/700R front yoke on my original drive shaft.

Would a 350, and 400 yoke be the same ? I have a brand new drive shaft out of my sons 69. It had a 400 trans in it.

Re: What bastard u-joint do i need?

I found a driveline from a 60's impala the exact length I need, so the worse case scenario is I'll need conversion u-joint?
