I dont know what its worth, your offer seems fair to me. With what he has it listed for I'd bet he would take 5,500 in a sec. Its a good looking truck if its what he says it is....just my two pennies. Some of these other guys will chime in and probably give you a better idea

Looks like a pretty solid truck...I would do 5K as a offer. That truck up here in NJ would be worth even more than the asking price !

If that was in my neck of the woods when I was looking I would give him $6k in a heart beat. Go drive it and buy it!

Re: 72 Cheyenne from Atlanta Craigslist (not mine)
Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to bring it back to stock expect to spend a lot on trim. From the pictures the first things: wrong seat cover, no scroll work. Wrong door panels, no wood grain. Wrong rear bumper, '73-'80 model. And of course wrong color. Another concerning fact is all the holes for the exterior trim are missing, (except tailgate), how were they filled? The dash das been cut for a later model radio. Look at the spid in the glove box, it will have the cheyenne option listed. compare the serial number on the spid to the tag in the drivers side door they must match. Cheyenne emblems can be bought cheap, emblems don't make it a cheyenne... Remember, primer hides a lot of sins. Look the truck over closely, bring a creaper and slide under it. Check cab mounts, inner rockers, under the doors, below the battery tray, the "pockets" in the front part of each front fender, and inside the bed sides for rust. look under the dash and see how much of the wire harness has been hacked up. If the truck is solid, then you have a good base for what ever you want to build. $4 to $5,000 for a rust free short bed is fair.
good luck, 72junky

You would be hard pressed to build that truck for that amount .

Re: 72 Cheyenne from Atlanta Craigslist (not mine)
I just posted this same thing on another thread. Im not seeing over $3750 or so.
I just sold my latest build. Everything on it was new. Engine, trans, exhaust, chrome, grille, tires, brakes, PS, PB. Paint was an older re-spray but was not bad and interior was nice. There was almost "0" rust in the truck with all original metal. I advertised it at $6500 because that's what it was actually worth and could not get it. It may have brought it if I put it on Ebay but it would not have gone over that.

Re: 72 Cheyenne from Atlanta Craigslist (not mine)
It was on Atlanta and Greenville Craigs List for 3 to 4 weeks. As usual nothing but time wasters, looky Lous and tire kickers. I also listed it here on the board and on 2 other sites. It was listed at its actual value and not the elevated dreamer/Barrett-Jackson prices you see all the others at. I ended up selling it to one of my buddies here at Rottenwood Garage after he quickly sold his long bed so its still in the "family". We just did a disk brake conversion on it.
