Old guy Getting back into the AD game again
Hi Everyone
I wasn't sure where to post an intro so I hope this is the right spot...I currently own a 1952/53 rusty bucket of bolts that used to be a Chevy truck. This is taken the day it got pushed out of the garage. I was given a Willys Jeep to rebuild so it sorta had to outside...currently it is under cover but looks just like it does here...My plan was to find an S10 and then a AD style cab and start a swap but it looks like I am about to purchase a 1 ton Chevy truck from a fellow in Indiana (it is just about complete and it kinda runs too)...I am in upstate NY...so I wont actually see it until early spring when the weather stops doing it's thing....I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys...I have been reading along on a couple of ongoing projects on here...you guys really know your stuff.... My goal is to keep as much AD truck as I can...upgrade the brakes and the rear end too...on the new project that is..might have to scavenge some stuff off of this one to accomplish it tho...oh well..only time will tell... You are one of my heros....I have learned so much from reading your stuff over on the Jeep forum website... I just spent the better part of 2 years rebuilding back to stock a 1947 CJ2A Jeep...wow what piece that ended up being...(nice but way too slow for me)I also have a S10 Willys truck project going on too... I found this next project and I am excited to get going on it...It runs so my first project is a 1/2 ton front axle and some Speedway front disc brakes for it....you know how it goes... I will be out in your neck in July my son is getting married...I am gonna have to stop over to Salem and say hi...I wanna see that beast you built... Wow this is crazy...but cool at the same time.. Thanks for the welcome MikeC |

Re: Old guy Getting back into the AD game again
Ok Mike, once you get going on this old Chevy I know these guys and gals will be glad to help when they can.
July you say..... ok, when the time gets closer we'll see if we can't make a meeting. I was in the shop most of the day today. I kinda started doing an inventory mental check of what I have left before paint and assembly......it can be overwhelming. Oh well, I'll keep moving forward and checking off the checklist. Keep up the hard work, we all here will be looking forward to seeing your progress when you get working on this old Chevy. Jim |

I've helped two friends build short no running board trucks like that.
Here is one of them. He had the nose tilted up when I took the photo. That one runs a modified 64 Chevelle frame.
