Anybody got 18" wheels?

I would like to see a pic please and tell me what tire size you are running. I am not sure that I want to spend the big bucks on a set of 20 or 22's right now. I am just kicking around ideas.

Thanks.

I like the 18's alittle better. I like the look of more tire. It is a truck after all!

18's & 20's . . .... the rear has been dropped more w/some shackles since these pics were taken (it had too much rake for my taste).

Its a matter of finding the 20's I like for cheap though. All the cheaper 20's might look ugly to me. I am just kicking around ideas anyway.

i wouldn't get anything bigger than 17's for mine. i like to drive it without worrying that i'm gonna hit a bump and bend a 3 or 4 hundred dollar wheel. big rims don't really appeal as much as they used to know that soccer moms are rollin 20's on there suburbans. there was a guy who came into work the other day and we put 22's on his avalanch and he said he thought " it will bling it out nicely" this guy was probly 55 years old

Ryan, that's why I'm using the 255/45's up front w/the 18's & 295/40's out back. Both are as tall of a sidewall or taller than what most 17" production vehicles come with.

I agree with Ryan on the 17's thing. I am running a 255/55 17 tire..it's got PLENTY of sidewall.

I'm not trying to persuade you to go with 20's but I would like to add some input. These trucks look ggod with either an 18/20 combo, or 20's all around, but that's just my "opinion".

What is not my "opinion" but a fact, is 20" rims are not much more than 18's. 20" tires on the other hand can be had very cheap compared to 18's.

For the guys commenting that you want more rubber than rim, you need to realize that the rim diameter has NOTHING to do with how much sidewall a tire has.

You can get 30,35,40,45,50, etc. series tires regardless of the rim size. So what that means is a 17" wheel can have a tire with a lot less sidewall than a 20" wheel if you get a lower profile series on the 17" wheel.....

I say step up to the plate and get 20's...

yeah i relize this, i put aftermarket wheels on stuff everyday, but typically on a rig like his your not gonna want to put a 50 series 20 or your gonna have alot more trouble laying out. another thing is that putting a tire with alot of side wall on a big rim makes the rim look alot smaller and kinda defeats the purpose if its the big rim look your going for. i just personaly prefer a nice set of 17's over 20's. but i'm stickin with 15's on mine

I like 17's through 22's. I like my 17's, but they are starting to look a little rough around the edges and either need some TLC or to be replaced. I am not worried about sidewall size anymore either cause the truck does not get driven much at all. The reason that I bought the 17's instead of 18's to begin with is because at the time, there was not an 18" tire with a big enough side wall for me to drive the truck everyday comfortably, that was before I had my car to drive. The biggest thing for me is cost. If I get to go on a wildland fire and make some O/T and hazard pay, then I am going to get 20 or 22's. I really like the way that brad2's truck looks with 20's all around.

Also, as far as laying it out, I will cut stuff to make it do that.

This made me laugh! My mom drives a Tahoe with bling-bling 18's that look like 20's w/ Nitto tires. I love that Tahoe!
