Post What does 2 part epoxy primer mean??

I am wanting to get some primer for some parts, And I hear the words 2 part epoxy primer. I know about the epoxy primer, but don't understand the 2 part, Does 2 part mean mix with reducer and primer, and spray only one time, Can someone help???? Thanks!

It means that you mix the paint with a hardener and then spray the mixture. With the DuPont product it has to stand for a hour or so after mixing and before spraying.

It also means you need to wear special respirator! Stuff can kill you if you don't know what your doing and have the right equipment and ventilation. Check with a pro on this one!

Yes, that is one downside of 2 part, it is VERY bad to breath. I used a fresh air resp. when I sprayed it. (line going outside for fresh air). Learned the hard way though. Sprayed a sandrail chassis with it once, no resp. coughed for days. Probably didn't help the body any either.

You can buy a fresh air for about $200 I believe, or rent them also.

two part you mex only what you are going to need. The unused stuff will last a lot longer than a one part and it is a better quality. DUPONT you don't hace to let it sit for an hour before spraying I use the stuff every day it is PPG that you have to let sit for one hour before spraying.
