if you have swapped for a 73-86 frame, can you post pics pls?

Hey guys,
I have a 59 that I got a great deal on, and also a free 85 heavy half for a donor. I am looking to do the frame swap but I am getting conflicting reports as to wheel fitment up front, if you have done this swap, could you post a pic in this thread with what wheel/tire combo you are using and any mods you had to make to the front to tuck tires. I would like to have a look and see what my options are.

78 1/2 ton with 35s. The rear leaf springs mounts were moved 4" forward. I mounted the core support with 2 6" vertical mounts straight off the frame. The front cab mount is about 7" and the rear cab mount is on 1/2 bushings. Still working on the bed mounts but is is not that complicated. I could not find much out their so I just went for it. So far so good. Just take a lot of measurement and do what looks good to you.

I talked to that guy, he had a lot of great information, I was just wondering if anyone had a 2wd 73-85 frame swap. The guy from e-z chassis swaps says that the front wheels will not rub, but some guys here say they won't. I wonder if maybe there are some slightly shorter a-arms that might do the trick??

Tires are too big. 255/50r20.(bought them for rollers) They would probably hit the wheel well. Planning on a 235 profile tire. Wheels are MB "old school" 20x8. The narrower tires will allow it to tuck over bumps. If not I would just have to roll the inner fender lip.

I keep looking at the 1-1/2 ton 51 I have out in the back yard and thinking about doing what Jackdaddy did with his truck. That would make a hauler that I could jump in and drive anywhere for a reasonable cost.

The "Big Bolt" ton-and-a-half front end eliminated all the "wheels sticking out of the fenders" I've heard about from the 1/2 ton-ers. Cabs are exactly the same regardless.

Marc's 55 looks good in 4x4 trim however.
