Newer seat in a 67-72 truck

I was wondering if anybody has put a 99-07 silverado seat in one of these trucks. If so how hard was it and can I see some pics of it installed. I was thinking about this cause the seat belts is made into the seat.

There's some threads here with those seats. Try and do a search. Fit is tight if you have an in cab tank. Good luck.

the seats i have are out of a 2006 extended cab chevy we just removed the old seat and straps and got bolts with wide washers and drilled the holes and bolted them down the one problem i had was being six foot five and needing leg room. and the little hump in the middle of the cab was messing with mounting the front bolts and we had to pull the tracks out past the hump to get a flat surface and i'm having trouble posting a picture with it im fairly new to the forum and have not figured it out yet

Man that's badass I was thinking about doing something similar to the marker light on my 72 but I figured it was to much trouble than what it's worth how hard was is to do that? And the seat looks good sitting in there I think that's the way I will go.

My dad fabricated the bracket for the light with a newer chevy/gmc gas door arm and the only problem is some gas stations pump too much fuel and the breather will shut it off but I go to a station that does it a little slower and is fine if it's a Dailey driver I recommend the bed floor filler

Got seats out of an '02 Chevy in mine. Gas tank is behind the seat. I'm 6' 4" and I have enough room. I will see if I can get some pics. of them for you.

how? my knees are just about touching my gauge cluster and shifter handle plus my tank is under the bed...

Flexible...I guess. Its only about 2" inches closer to the steering wheel than my '89 Chevy with the seat all the way back. With the tank gone you could probably gain 4"-5"?

You really don't gain as much as you would hope with the tank being gone. The seat comes into contact with the cab before anything else so little room is gained for the legroom but much is gained as far as storage for stuff behind the seat. I have tried the later seats in the truck but they just were not for me. I am on the large side, I am of heavy build thick frame, and I am 6'3 375lbs and the seats just were not the best solution for me. In my 68 GMC I have buddy buckets and a tilt column that is "pushed" all the way down and that helps a lot. But with the 99-07 seats in the 70 Chevy with standard column it just didn't work for me, so after the build it will have tilt and buckets so at least I can drive it before someone else owns it. Jim

I got '95 Silverado seats in mine...love it...SOOO comfortable...and power Lumbar to boot

I put 2002 chevy Silverado seats in my 71 chevy sb. Not too hard to install. I can send you some pics thru e-mail, but can't seem to post on this site.
