What to do?

I've got a 1972 swb I've recently purchased,it been sitting in a garage for the last five years with no engine or trans. But it did come with Dakota digital dash ,Dakota digital controllers for airbags, train horns, power windows, owner removed airbags but gave me the parts with the truck.ok at first my plan was to clean the engine bay put in a l92/6l80 truck engine, tsp vvt4 cam, stall, and put air ride back on buff paint and that was going to be it, so I get the truck home look over some more and stat to find rust some on fire wall and where the cab mount to frame also after looking at the truck I don't like the paint the green and white is the original color and It'll look better than the green and gray.my ? Is with this frame mount problem should I do a frame off or should I have it fixed and paint the truck and frame with out removing the cab?

Re: What to do?

Well...if you can afford the time and cash do the frame off, If not don't ...: i guess it would all boil down to what you already invested in the truck and what you would have to get out of it if you ever planned on selling .chevy:

Re: What to do?

Those are called cab supports. Rather inexpensive but.. Once you get one rusty piece off you will start to see the big picture. Soon you will need rockers, inner rocker & floor edge, lower pillars, kick panels, etc, etc. once you add up all the parts you may want to do a full floor replacement. Especially when you consider a mile of welding patches in the existing floor. That's my opinion and experience, hopefully yours isn't as bad. The truck does look great! Love the color combo.

Four?
Just kidding.

I have twenty-seven in mine (+/-; I really don't wanna know), and could probably get twelve. And I'm dumb enough to be embarking on a motor build.
So, how's that for idiotic economics?

Whatever it is, figure out what you'll have in it a divide by two.

When I have my motor newly built and in, I'd probably have to divide by three.
