Re: alternative heater duct?
Sorry, I don't know about different ideas for the ducting, but replacements are available from brothers.

Re: alternative heater duct?
How about the inexpensive bags of metallic foil hose/tube/ducting that goes from exhaust shroud to air cleaner? I was lookin at about a 3ft length bagged at advance auto for a couple bucks and thinkin, yeah, under dash, right size, tougher than the paper hose, and way less than $25 + shippin! I think I'm headin back for a bag of it.

Re: alternative heater duct?
I just fixed my factory duct with a full length wrap of electrical tape! It was the boys tape so I don't feel bad. And, it'll hold till I get back to autozone for somma that nice metallic ducting.
I measured the pipes, my 65 uses 2.5" id hose. |

Re: alternative heater duct?
I found the short--about 3 or 4 inches long--exhaust & tail pipe adapters come in handy when fitting a larger diameter hose to the defroster snouts. [These are available inexpensively enough at A/Zone and Adv. A/P & prolly O'Reilly as well.]
When tubing is stiff enough, or when enough length is used to eliminate flimsyness, this combo will stay in place without rivets or bolts, and still direct greater flow thru the ducts. When installing these ducts, we quickly learn about the lack of room in-and-around the def. fittings. Makes one wish for lengthy, child's arms and hands--at least for a few minutes! Sam |

Re: alternative heater duct?
I've been fighting this hose without results.
No one seems to have the actual size hose. I can't stretch the plastic 2 1/2" stuff far enough and I don't want to wrestle with it. I actually seems to be 2 5/8" ID, and I can't find it The shop vac hose suggested was way too small for my 65. The aluminum foil seems good but not available in the right size. ????? |

Re: alternative heater duct?
not a big fan of LMC but the hoses fit real good. don't even need clamps but you will have work getting them in place. the price is right until you pay shipping which a total different entity. that is how they make their money
