Pics of BBC with alternator and p.s pumps

What's the chance of getting some front on pics of big blocks?
I'd like to see the different power steering and alternator mounting positions available. When I pulled out my engine the alternator was almost sitting on the p.s pump. it looked awkward and didn't line up quite right. I've seen brackets for sale stating high and low positions so would like to get a better idea. Cheers

Mine are on opposite sides, and doesn't have AC.

it sounds like you have the genre correct oe setup with a short water pump.
the picks above are of the later style with the long water pump.
the high an low brackets that you mentioned are custom made setups too move things around.
i'm sure if you look hard enough you could prolly find a high/mid/low mount bracket for the alt on the pass side for a short water pump but dont expect it too be oe looking.

i am in the final steps of swapping from the chromed out lwp setup too the oe looking swp setup stuff on my bb and now my pockets hurt and i'm still not done

Thanks guys. When I bought my truck late last year, the set up was such that the ps pump was on a dodgy bracket and the tension was supplied by the alternator sitting on top of it! Not an ideal set-up. While the donk is out and being rebuilt I thought I would research a better set-up. Its a bit beyond OE status, LOL , so that's not an issue, but I would like a more practical and symmetrical set-up.

Here is my truck with a 396 in it. It was in the truck like this when I bought it. The P/S pump is on the lower drivers side

The truck is in storage right now but if you can wait a day or two I can go get some more detailed pics for you. The engine is a 1967/68 model and I was told came out of a Chevelle so I think the P/S pump was on the nine and they transplanted the whole thing into the truck.

Sub'd. I'm looking for a passenger side low mounting option for the alternator for my BBC too. I want it low like the PS Pump. My PS Pump is the original style with the remote tank. I have took a lot of time cleaning up the engine bay so I probably will not be using it.

I'd like to have the alternator opposite to the PS pump. I have a bracket similar to your PS bracket, but when I tried dry fitting it, the PS pulley was slightly skew-wiff and the belt didn't run true so I figured it may have been the wrong bracket. Chris,
