decent little not-so-easy-to-find (swb) camper - thought someone might be interested. Not mine, enjoy.

That is pretty rare to see for a short box,I had a camperette like that in a 8 foot model and it was great when we did a trip to the portland swapmeet.

This one made me think of your truck - at least the flush back door anyway (except for the swb part). Yep, swb tall campers aren't that common. I can understand why, not what folks usually buy a swb truck for in the first place, but still a cool old camper.

Re: CL ad: somewhat period-correct SWB camper shell
That looks right for the time period. In the '70s it seemed about every pickup had a little get-away camper like that in the desert & mountain states. They all had the back door. Back East most all had tailgate/hatch. Here's the rig I had when I lived in Flagstaff. Just right for a quick get outta town

It would still be good for a weekend camping trip,it keeps you off the ground and dry.The funny thing is the one I had I traded for a '69 shortbox stepside, but it was yellow.

That looks like the same brand as the work-type one that was on Vectorit's SWB K/10

Re: CL ad: somewhat period-correct SWB camper shell
I know this is an old thread but I've been looking for a camperette and am needing one real soon and I'm going have to go out of town for work (construction). Does anyone know where I can find one at?
Thanks for any help. I'm needing one in the next couple of weeks. |
