Need a measurement on original skid plate - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need a pic and a measurement on a skid plate for my 72. I am told that there is a hole for access to a bolt. It is supposed to be about 1 1/2" in diameter.
Could someone please check the hole size and get me a location for it? Thanks.

I took the one off my '71 Jimmy so I could better assess a tranny leak. It's still hanging on a peg in my shop. If I can connect with my buddy and his digital camera, I'll hook you up.

Naw -- It was only 100 today. Much cooler now that the monsoons are coming in.
Bad news, however, my buddy said his digital cam is busted. So tomorrow I'll take out my old school tape measure and get regular dimensions, just like back in the dark ages of the 20th century.

My skidplate, I assume, is OEM. I doubt if the PO could fab one. But it was on by only one set of bolts.
The skidplate is:
20 1/4" long
8" wide
1/4" thick steel
There is a 1 1/2" D. hole 1/2" inboard from Driver's side [orientation is from top down], center of hole is approx 3" back. The hole may be a relief for the pocket created by 2 rubber tranny mounts on foward crossmember. Hole does not correspond to any drain plugs ( SM465 or NP 205). I tried a few different orientations. Mine was originally directly under the drivers side Xmsn mounting bolt - which was missing when I bought it!
There are 8 - 3/8" D. mounting holes. They are not symetrical.
Center of first pair of holes is 3/4" aft of leading edge of skidplate, and 1 1/2" inboard of Drivers side -- other hole is 2 5/16" inboard of Passenger side. Following pairs are directly aft of these.
2nd pair is 5 5/16" aft of leading edge.
3rd pair is 15" aft.
4th pair is at 19 1/2" aft or 3/4" forward of trailing edge.
First joggle is 20 degrees upward bend at 12 3/8" aft.
2nd joggle at 1 7/8" 20 degrees down.

So yours doesn't have that 1-1/2" hole? I don't know what good it does anyway. I tried once to tighten up the transmission mounting bolt, and the deepwell socket that fit the hole was too small for the bolt head. Go figure?
