Re: Stepside Guys.....

If you get some for the 81-87 trucks I'm in. I had to build one out of a couple of different hoses and a piece of pipe. I would much rather have the right hose.

Re: Stepside Guys.....

I do not know anyone reproducing fuel doors or necks yet. Here is a picture of the R/H filler hose and the R/H is a mirror immage of it. Inside diameter is 1 1/2". WES

Update:

Sorry to report nothing has changed with this subject. Ordered the above for my 77 Chevy Sport Stepside. The new hose was 2" short and will not work for a 77 Chevrolet Shortbed Stepside. Picture is shown below for a comparison. Maybe they have a new update; I will check. Larry
P.S. Lucky my original hose is not that bad so that is what is on it.

Re: Stepside Guys.....

I am sorry I don't see it in your picture. Comparing the two in the picture, it looks like our reproduction is a little longer than the one on your truck. When I compared it to the NOS one that I had it was exactly the same. Of coarse the NOS one had never been installed on a truck either. Not sure what is going on with yours. WES

Re: Stepside Guys.....

Wes: The only thing I can think of is that your hose has a longer molded curve as shown. By having that molded curve that can not be stretched out reduces the total length. My original does not have that molded sharp curve in it. Anyway that's my guess. It comes out 2" short. Larry

P.S> We tried everything under the sun to make it work; but no luck.

roundhouse: Good idea; never thought of that. I assume that hose has a
1 1/2" inner diam.; correct? Did you happen to notice what that radiator hose is off of? Is there a part number on the hose. May save some time if I try that route. Thanks; Larry

If you look closely, the 77-78 filler necks sit higher on the fender than the 73-76. That would cause your hose to be 2" too short for the 77-78.

Have lots, both lefts and rights. Right $21.95 & left $16.95.

This is very dangerous. A radiator hose is not rated for gasoline... Gas will soften the rubber and in a short time the hose will fail. You should fix that immediately. WES

I know it's not rated for gasoline

But it's a lot safer than the cracked leaking hose that was on it

And at the time NO ONE made replacement filler hoses

we didn't have any other alternative

I think it's great that they are available now!

let me dig around, I may have the part number

we just swapped the tank for a 87 with the in tank pump, the frame mounted pump just wasnt working for the TBI, so ,had to get another radiator hose, which is odd because a frame mounted pump works fine for 50 PSI on my 74 Bronco with '90 Mustang EFI,

we found one that was a very good fit for the 87 tank to passenger stepside fender.
