Suburban wheelbase?
Was the suburban a 133" wheelbase or 127" like a long bed. Reason I'm asking is my truck frame was cut and notched like you do to a LWB to make a SWB, and a suburban frame was cut and notched and welded to it, so now it has a heavy A$$ set of leaf springs and a 12 bolt. But a body shop did the work and thought they had the wheel base off but it's actually dead nuts on at 127", so my question is a suburban wheelbase longer than 127" and in turn have a longer driveshaft or is it not, the body shop thought they had it off but it's actually perfect, and they had all of the suburban parts at hand, so was it a case of mistaken driveshaft length or just not checking the driveshaft, also the longhorn or camper special has a longer driveshaft and wouldn't fit either, they may have had one of them also

Re: Suburban wheelbase?
Also were the suburban half tons 5 or six lug because this rearend is a five lug. And were the 3/4 ton suburban 8 lug? I have no idea and just trying to piece it together.

Re: Suburban wheelbase?
Burbs have a 127" WB but the frame does go a little longer at the rear.
1967 -70 1/2 tons have 6 lugs 1971-72 had 5 lugs wheels, all 3/4 tons had 8 lugs |

Re: Suburban wheelbase?
If you are trying to wing this at least get some good source information. Download a 71 Sub info package from the GM Heritage site.
http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-h...tion-kits.html Buy a brochure and a driver's handbook too. Lots of basics there. Also download the factory service manual and overhaul manuals. They are linked in my signature. If you need information it is out there, just not always easy to find or free. If you wanted to see a 133" wb Suburban/Panel it would look a lot like this photo chop I did. This was intended to get the strength of a one-ton frame and better weight distribution for a heavy trailer.
