Wow...thats crazy! Bad for the cars and museum but good no one was there or got hurt. Makes ya wonder what they'll do with the cars? GM probably isnt real happy about the two loaned cars falling in

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Some of them may not ever come back out of that hole.

Sad day for some of our truck's kin

I know this is a 'truck' forum, but have you heard about what's happening at the corvette museum? Very, very sad day for Chevy lovers. A giant sinkhole opened up under the dome and has swallowed several corvettes.

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/...ght-on-camera/

After watching the youtube clips, click on the one of the helicopter shots... simply amazing.

Re: Sad day for some of our truck's kin

I remember almost everyone of those cars. My wife and I did a vaca in Bowling Green complete with the museum tour and the factory tour several years ago and it is still one of our favorite travels. That purple C4 if not mistaken was the mule or a mule car for the ls1 drivetrain that they drove and tested for several years in real world conditions before releasing it in a new body style in front of spying eyes. The car logged like 140k miles if I recall. Each one of those cars was special in its own way at that place, like the only 83 model that was made, yes they did but it was never released. I learned so much in so little time that day that may be why it is such a fond memory. I know in some small way we all lose a part of our automotive history every day each time the crusher comes down or the junkyard gates open, but it is so rare that we watch it on camera happen to shined up priceless jewels. Rest well beloved Vettes. Jim

Re: Sad day for some of our truck's kin

Crazy! I had to go to the New York Times to find out where the museum is located (Bowling Green, KY - makes sense) as this detail is not provided on the Fox News piece...

Re: Sinkhole collapses part of Corvette Museum in Ky

From those helicopter pics, I think that museum was build on top of a landfill. That void was going on for a while I would think?. Take notice that the concrete floor has zero steel rebar, not that it would of saved it, but shows how and what they build with and on.
