Just joined --> Here's my ride!
Hello everyone,
I just found the forum the other day and figured I should join in. My truck was once done as the picture attached shows. That's how it's been since I graduated high school. 5 years later I'm out of college I've got bigger plans for it. It looks the same now except there is a primer red, steel cowl-hood on it(that's a result of a exploding fan destroying my mint hood(ouch)). Here's what I've done recently: Installed 1998 corvette LS1(Yeah!) Installed bowtie overdrive's 700R4 Here's what's in the coming months: Installing my ECE 4-6 drop and suspension rebuild kit. Possibly installing Baer four wheel disc brakes. 17 or 18 inch wheels(five spoke) painting my steel cowl hood And of course this is my only vehicle and daily driver! Gotta love it..

It's Viper red with a little twist but that's a secret. That picture really doeen't do the color justice so here is another from the side.

Finally another LS1. You must be the same one posting on LS1tech. Is the LS1 stock? Looks good. Can't wait to get mine done. Hopefully in a year or two.

Yeah the LS1 is all stock except for the computer. It runs extremely well. So far I'm getting over 20 mpg on the freeway and that's only to get better with the tune.

Awesome truck! Question though, why the 700R4 instead of the 4L60E? Hopefully in the next year I will be the first one on here with a LS1 in a 4 wheel drive(suburban to boot)

Welcome to the board from NH! That's a very nice truck. I was thinking of maybe putting an LS1, or better yet, an LT-5 out of a wrecked Corvette ZR-1 would be a sweet addition to one of these trucks.

I'll get an under hood pic for you guys.
To answer Mark540s question. I'm using the 700R4 because I installed that 5 months before the LS1. At that time an LS1 wasn't even in the picture. I'm perfectly happy with the 700. It's the companies Stage 3 tranny. Supposed to withstand 600 horse. Check it out on www.700r4.com.

Thanks for the answer SweetandLong68, any problems hooking up the TV cable? I assume you switched to the camaro throttle body setup or were you able to get the throttle by wire to work? I built up and raced a '99 Corvette, now that it is gone, I need another LS1!!!
