Rough country lift

I ordered their 6" system today for my k30. I've ran every other lift brand out there except for rough country. Anyone use this kit? The bad reviews I read were about stiffness but that's what I happen to want. Lifetime replacement was a plus. I know their shocks arnt much but neither is any other company's base line shock. A lot recommend ord but they pretty much sell you parts from other companies. Tuff country and skyjacker mostly.

Re: Rough country lift

My only experience is up to 425 lb/in on 1/2 ton stuff, rides good up to there. I'd call them and check the rate.

Re: Rough country lift

People whine about the stiff ride now that some companies offer springs that make the ride a bit better. Back when all you could get were springs like Rough Country offers we were all riding with big grins on our faces happy as jay birds our trucks were ridin' high. I wouldn't want a soft spring on a heavy duty truck...if it was used for what it was designed for, work.

Re: Rough country lift

Yea I'd rather have a stiff spring than one to get soft and the truck start leaning. I put a skyjacker system on 15+ years ago for a guy. Truck still sits like day one. Just hope this rough country doesn't get weak early.

Re: Rough country lift

I installed a 4 inch tuff country about 7-8 years ago (well i helped i was 10 at the time) and it has sagged about 1.5-2" since. I plan on a rough country for this as well.

There is a reason it's called rough country...

I feel the same way,put a 4" lift on my 80 K20 over 20 years ago & ya it rode rough, but you couldn't wipe the grin off my face! I lifted my 82 up 6" last fall & it's the same grin too..I set it up as a work truck,so it's supposed to ride firm.

Re: Rough country lift

I really can't complain about the 4" rough country springs I put on my K5. The ride is firm no doubt, but not objectionable. It is a solid axle truck, it's not a sports car for sure. I've driven IFS trucks with jacked torsion bars that rode worse.
