Yes... We bought one new in 1969. Bought it from Palomar Motors in Escondido Ca. I was 16. Never forgot that truck, loved the color. I still love GMC's today. Thats why I restored one.

Re: My New Ride Special Order Paint

Here you go:

SP0040 = Green and white combo, green alone was called "Oh! Green"

Here's a paint option list for 1971, found elsewhere on this site. I really like the green.

Re: My New Ride Special Order Paint

Nice 910. Yep,that was a color offered on Canadian trucks to the general public (not fleet) along with some other "off colors". Already Gone should be chiming in. We've had other Canadian members with that color in the past

Why sand it down? You will find primer. Option code SP0040 is for special paint, look at the line under model on your spid picture. This is the original paint.

Yep, that is factory paint on your truck. I have a pink and white truck but mine stared life as medium olive and white. The sheet in the pic is mine ( I posted in threads once or twice ) and it was with my truck when I bought it. Its your truck to do with as you please but if I was you I'd leave the paint alone. You have something very unique.

I actually know where there is one and its not far from me and I talked with the owner last summer but didn't have my camera so didnt get any detailed info or pics but plan to as soon as the weather breaks up here, probably April/May. I do remember him saying the truck had been in his family since new.

Yeah, you came to mind too,but I was afraid I didn't have your name right. I've seen members in the past show that lime green as well as purple.

Re: My New Ride Special Order Paint

I saw one of these lime green trucks on Craiglist a while back and thought someone had painted it that color and it said factory paint. I have never seen these special paint colors before. Very interesting....

If you do that this should be what you will get. This is for my truck and as I said it was green and white before it was pink and white. Hope you don't mind me putting my truck in your thread but don't know if you have seen a pic of it or not.

Do you know of a list like this for '69 GMC's? I have a '69 3500 that has special paint and it is a grey. It looks like slightly shinier grey primer. -lol
