Re: What brand of carpet

I've heard really good things about Trimparts. I think its the only GM authorized repop carpet. Go the the vendor section and Kyle @ Laidbackrecreations has a thread on there with a sale going on. Thats what I'm going to do anyways.

Re: What brand of carpet

I used ACC (www.accmats.com) carpet with the mass backing & jute option. It fit great and is high quality. I found the best price at Rock Auto. It's made in the USA. I've also heard good things about Trim Parts carpet and always wondered who makes it. Does anyone know? I have NOT heard good things about LMC's carpet.

+1 ACC or Trim parts. I have used both and I was happy with either.

Re: What brand of carpet

I hate to pop anybody's bubble, but LMC Truck carpet kits come from ACC.

I've done one Trimparts install that was in my '79 C10 the story is archived on Custom Classic Trucks web. The fit was good.

I've done three installs on '73-87 C10's using LMC Truck's carpet. The fit was good

My '76 Ford F-250 in the latest issue of American Truck was using LMC Truck's carpet. The fit was good.

I'm doing an LMC Truck carpet install in the July 2014 issue of Classic Trucks in my '86 Dodge. I'm expecting it to fit good.

A '65 C10 LMC Truck carpet install, that went well.

Also for upcoming Classic Trucks I'm doing a '79 C10 install with Classic Industries carpet kit. I'm anxious to see how good it fits.

I've never done a '67-72 C10 carpet install using anyones carpet kits, so I can't speak of how they fit.

Installing any carpet kit takes a little finesse. Its not like putting your undershorts on.

Although I did install a full rubber mat in my '88 C/K one time and it fit like baggy Pampers with a fresh load. It didn't come from any of the companies mentioned.

I've said too much already... gotta go.

Re: What brand of carpet

I went with Wes of Classic Heartbeat. Twice. Very happy with quality and service. Not sure what brand they are but they are high quality and competitive price - and you will enjoy deadline with Wes. He's a member here. Note that with almost all you will have to locate and cut out the dimmer switch joke. Wes includes the grommet, as do most. Running an appropriately sized hole saw BACKWARDS is a good way to cut out the hole. Don't goon it or the grommet won't fit...

Re: What brand of carpet

ACC and trim parts are the two companies that make carpet for our trucks. Both are good quality IMO
