My new truck and some questions

I recently bought a 83 k10 scottsdale with a "supposed" crate 350 with 20k mi t400 trans. Im going to be rebuilding this and im starting to make a list of what i need to do. Being that its winter and just bought it im thinking that i should get new plugs and wire(any reccomendations?) and rebuild the carb. I was just wondering what else should i do right off the bat? Also i have a really bad squealing while driving. I looked at the belt and it looks fine, could it be a bad pulley bearing or power steering or ac.

heres a pic:

Re: My new truck and some questions

post some pics of engine & truck - not knowing the true condition of things might as well put on a new distributor cap & rotor with plugs & wires (Taylor good). even though fan belts look good best to just change them to be sure. might want to upgrade to a aftermarket carburetor. be sure to check out battery condition. engine oil/filter change & trans filter/fluid change too.
