First project 62' stepper

Pick up my first project, I have plans for an original paint patina scheme on bags, I'll be learning as much as I can as I go and doing everything myself. I found this truck in a neighboring town for $1500, show up with $1000 cash and left with her, the guy said she ran but he was going to restore her and started taking her apart. He supposedly found her in a barn.. Everything seems to be there except seat and windshield.

Re: First project 62' stepper

Started wet sanding everything, turns out truck had been painted a few times. Started out brigade blue with the white top, went to a metallic brown color and had a coat of primer over that

Re: First project 62' stepper

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new 62. The bench seat and front glass should be easy enough to locate. Keep us posted on the progress and pics.

Re: First project 62' stepper

I bought the truck a month ago and I've got a lot of pictures to load to catch you guys up with the progress but I'm only able to load one pic at a time, anyway after sanding the truck down, it didn't have as much blue left as I wanted so I prep and painted it, and finally sanded it back down to close to what I'm looking for, NAPA mixed the paint from the factory code

You'll need to rotate them on the camera, computer, or the site where you're hosting them. Can't rotate them here. The forum just links back to wherever your host is.

Re: First project 62' stepper

I cut about two inches out of the crossmember ends, I was skeptical about doing so but it turned out solid and I don't believe they will be any trouble
