Can't get carburetor clean

Put a the float bowl section of the carburetor into an ultrasound machine with straight vinegar. I ran it for 3 hours and still can't get it clean. There's a dusty black coating on it now that won't come off. Tried soaking it in carb cleaner but that's not taking it off either. Anybody?

I don't know what an ultrashound machine and vinegar is all about - why didn't you just soak it in the carb/parts cleaner to begin with?

Re: Can't get carburetor clean

You need a ultrasonic that heats up and you need to use actual ultrasonic cleaning fluid, not vinegar. Soaking in carb cleaner works good to.

If using the ultrasonic cleaner try the hogdon solution. It works good. Best way would be the can of cleaner though.
