Question about 71 - 72 4X4 6 lug wheels.

What size was the standard wheel size for 71-72 disc brake 4X4 K10's and Blazers? I see stock trucks with a narrow 15" rims with hubcaps, but I don't know the size of them.

The reason I ask is when I change my '68 over disc brakes I want to run a 6 lug rotors, and I have recently found out that the stock 67 - 70 15 X 5.5's won't clear the calipers. I am going to run 15 X 8" 6 lug steelies in the rear, but I want to stick with a narrower rim on the front, but I would like a wider rim than the factory 5.5's were.

Pretty sure same width just different offset. If not they are no more than 6".

Here's a good thread that will give you a few more options.

Re: Question about 71 - 72 4X4 6 lug wheels.

I'm pretty sure my Jimmy factory wheels were 15x7. Currently they are mounted on my '69 short step with the original '69 hub caps. I would think this would work fine on your '68 with discs.

This is the only pic I could find easily. The spare is the original '69 wheel.

15x6" was the base wheel size, 71-72 K5, K10 Pickup and Suburban.
