72 gmc jimmy dual exhaust

I finally got my new full length headers from hedman but now I'm wondering about running dual exhaust out the side of the quarters. I currently dump under the truck just past the rear axles. What I am wondering is do any of you guys know of a good header back kit that is easy to install? I do know how to weld but just need some help determining what kit I may need. (Ie what size tubing, proper bends so on and so forth)Headers have 3 inch collectors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: 72 gmc jimmy dual exhaust

You could probably adapt a '73 and up exhaust and make it work with your welder and a sawzall, but I would suggest having a competent local exhaust company make you a custom exhauts. My recommendation would be to put the tail pipes at a 45 degree angle out the side. This maximizes flow. A 4x4 should never have them straight out the back, pack them full of mud and water if you are using your truck and have to rock it back and forth. I really like the Magnaflow Hemi Turbo mufflers for excellent power making flow and better than average noise reduction.

Easiest way is to take it to a shop. Only cost me 300 to get Midas to put one on for me headers back. 45 degree out behind tires to keap Exhaust out of the cab.

If you are wanting to do it yourself I've heard summit sells a decent DIY kit as well.

Re: 72 gmc jimmy dual exhaust

Correction to my post: The DYNOMAX Hemi turbo mufflers not Magnaflow as stated above. I have a set of Magnaflows I got from a parts truck I'm going to put on my '69 short step so that crossed my wires.
