wiw 1965 nos grille had chromed.

i bought a nos 65 gm grille and had it professionaly chrome plated. then decided to cancel 65 project. now restoring my 71 bb shorty instead.

i just didnt know what its worth? i know i paid 200.00 for the nos grille and another 295.00 to have it show chrome plated. havent decided if it will go! or become wall art!
please let me know what you all think. as i value your oninion!
thx,dave

Re: wiw 1965 nos grille had chromed.

Sorry to say bud but, I think when you chromed it you kinda ruined the NOS desirability.

As a chrome piece you would be very lucky to get the cost of chrome out of it, just because guys can get an aftermarket one for the same money and everyone wants to get stuff cheap.

Good luck!

You are correct it is better made AND heavier material. As you said, I was just offering my opinion, you know what they say about opinions and arm pits!

I think what he meant is you modified the stock part. so its not stock looking anymore so it loses some value. Im sure it looks great

yea, i can understand that, i like stock nos parts as well. what i had in mind was to take virgin gm steel and chrome it thinking it would hold up better.

well, what do you think its worth?
thx for your reply. dave

And I am sure your right. But nos parts are like a time capsule. Good or bad. And only original once.
