Fuel tank options?
So I am converting my 71 blazer to a hunting rig and less of a rock crawler. First on the list is a gas tank. Mine is currently 15 gallons and I want to get max rule capacity and keep rear departure angles and clearance.
I know there was a large tank once available but heard that company sold out.

Re: Fuel tank options?
Elks, I just took a tank out of my 72 that was mounted between the rocker and the frame, driver side. There was a manual valve to run that or the stock tank. I can take some pictures this weekend if you like. I'm not sure of the gallonage. Maybe we can figure that out by the size.

Re: Fuel tank options?
I have an 86 Blazer tank that's likely going into my 72. Just measuring, it looks like it will fit between the frame rails. It's a 31 gallon tank as compared to my 21 gallon tank. It looks like it will probably sit an inch or two lower than my stock tank.
The fuel filler is on the opposite side, so I may have to flip it around or come up with another arrangement. |
