New to the Sub Club!

Hey Guys,

At long last I have joined the Sub Club and couldn't be more thrilled. I had been on the hunt for a suitable '71 or '72 and finally found one I can love for a LONG time! 1972 GMC Suburban Super Custom 1500 4x4 with 3 rows of seats. 2nd and 3rd rows are 100% original, and the front bench has been recovered. Original paint inside and out. Garaged its entire life so it has VERY little rust. Removing what little rust there is is the first priority. Second may be new leaf springs all around. I've had two '72 Jimmmys over the years and began my addiction to the body style with a '72 Blazer. As I recently decided, bigger is better. Anyway, just wanted to say "hello".

Let's try this one. Only have one pic up now. Will have to wait for the rain to clear before taking a full set.

Re: New to the Sub Club!

Very nice, and an interesting backdrop as well.
Your GMC looks a lot like "Dougo"s GMC K2500 Suburban.

Re: New to the Sub Club!

That is a beautiful looking Suburban.
Nice and well used as a truck should be, but obviously well loved.
I think you have yourself a gem!

GMC 4x4 Suburban's to me are very uncommon, plus you have an awesome color combination to boot.

Judging by the neighborhood, I sure hope you don't have any hater neighbors... I had to deal with so many of them in the early days of my Suburban restoration.

Re: New to the Sub Club!

Thanks for the kind words Chris! I am very pleased with it so far, and quite confident that sentiment will continue for years to come.

For better or worse, that is not my neighborhood, so haters over there will have to focus on something else. Like you, I have had experiences with people who don't "appreciate" classics, but my current neighbors are thankfully very tolerant.

Yes, it is an antenna mount. I imagine it was for a CB radio or some such thing.
