Was '67 the only year to have the small rear window?

Some early 68's had them,

67's could also come with a big window, panoramic view option.

If we are talking 67 to 72 then YES
There was an option in 1967 called paoramic view or rear window which allowed the cab to have the full size rear window.
The small rear window was standard in 1967
The 67's have quite a few unique features such as no side markers and a host of other differences from the 68-72 trucks.
To name a few the wing window handles and the inside cab mounted rear view mirror.
The dash knobs on some 67's were also different.
There were also different lines in 67 for options like the Custom and the CST option packages.

Technicly there were no small windows on the 68 pick ups, however, there has been a couple spotted. Posable carry over cabs or posably not the correct cab for the aplication, but they have been spotted.

67 frames are also different where the steering gear box mounts

Hi Everyone,
I didn't know there was that much difference in 67's, I just thought it was just the rear windows.
Yesterday while I was at the gas station getting gas, I was watching the vehicles drive by, when I noticed a 67-72 roof top towering over the rest of the vehicles roofs. It was a primered '67 swb fleetside 2wd, I noticed that the front of the hood slants back on a sharp angle, and on the 69-72 the hoods are more squared. Was that another difference between the years?

Yes, the '67/'68s all had the sharper nose -- some call then "chisel noses" and the '69/'72s "blunt noses." I prefer the earlier lines, but I'm prejudiced.
OBTW did you know that the fender line also changed slightly, because of the deeper hood, but GMC kept using the '68 style fenders [possibly because they still had a lot of 'em] all thru the production run til '72. I even was told by a junkyard guy that the '72 -looking GMC suburban he had was a '73. Maybe it just wasn't registered until 1973, being a late bloomer some dealer finally off-loaded and the (AZ) MVD called it a '73.
But getting back to '67-only differences: notice the door lock knobs are different and the door handles and window cranks are slimmer (but the same kind of design -- and are interchangeable w/'68-'72s.)
The in-cab rearview mirror mount was the same on '67 and '68s. It changed to a more flexible neck unit in '69 and a glued to the windshield unit in '72. My '67 Sub had a cheesy repro glue-on rear view mirror when I bought it. I was able to correct that with a rear view mirror mount from (I think?) a '64 Olds wagon. It bolted right on and looked identical to my stock '68 mount, excep the Olds(?) one was chromed not flat black -- or was it originally "silver fawn?"
Also '67/'68s have a shelf inside the grille. This was deleted on the later production models. Very handy for a bottle of oil.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this one yet but they had different steering wheels also
