Re: pics of door mirrows for towing

I don't have any pics right now of mine. But put a set of full size west coasts on it, You won't regret it. Might want to get a set that are heated too. Then you dont have to worry about frost, ice and snow.

Dumbo or dually style mirror? Stock '84 mirrors could be couple different ones.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

they don't look to bad;;where you find these at?i don't care for the west cost ones..if not towing i don't want big mirrows sticking way out past truck..hopping to find something look sporty on truck when not hooked to trailer but usable when hooked to trailer;;i even thought about taking and cutting the stem on mine where they go straight out to morrow and build a tubing that would pin or bolt between the stem where i cut at.that would extend mirrow out where could see down side trailer and when not towing could remove it and slid the mirrow back to where it's at stock..only drawback i think i'd have is the mirrow itself would vibrate and shake a lot being stuck out there that much on just a 1" tubing..i tried the plasic mirrow entensions that slid over my mirrows and has it's own mirrow out on end of it..dosent work at all..can't see a thing out of them from them hanging out there so far all they do is shake and vibrate;;my biggest concern is i need and want to be sure no one is in passing lane beside my trailer incase i needed to go into passing lane myself..had a bad experance with a buddy not was pulling a 26' trailer and he couldn't see down side his trailer or behind him that good..he was going to pass a slow truck and next thing i hear is a big bang.as he started into passing lane he already had a car trying to pass him but with his small up against door mirrows he didn't see car and tore whole side of his car trailer up..don't want that to happen to me..i even thought of mounting back-up cameras on front of car trailer on side of it and adjust where i'm able to see complete side of my trailer and complete left lane from frt trailer to rear of trailer..

Re: pics of door mirrows for towing

you can also take gm box van mirrors and bolt em to the stock square base. i hate the welded up vent winder.

You know the ones you describe were made for several years...I've seen them on trucks in the junkyard and I've seen one pair scrounged up that were brand new but fit GMT-400s.

Ignoring the GMT-800 style towing mirror in these pics, here they are extended vs. collapsed.
