Re: ididit questions

Ididit makes a nice column as does Flaming River. Check summit or jegs, they will have it priced cheaper. Plus you can look on the board for a nice original column.

Re: ididit questions

I installed an Ididit column in my 69 C20. It's a very good product and direct replacement. I was very pleased. I originally had automatic on the column and wanted to go with a floor shift. I installed a chrome Ididit column and Lokar Nostalgia floor shifter. You would have to determine if you want to stick with stock OE look or go with something more custom. My C20 is a resto-mod and not stock, so that's what I was going for. Do some serious price searching online. Good luck.

Re: ididit questions

you need to dig around on this site for info about those "affordable columns" one day you will be driving along and then be sucking guard rail. I got a OEM refurbished Tilt from board member Kevsclassic on here, and it was professionally done with good quality parts.

I do believe Flaming River and Ididit are of premium quality but that is why you pay the premium price.

Re: ididit questions

I put an Ididit column in my truck, I was very happy with it. Yes it was a direct replacement.

The steering column shouldn't have any effect on weather you go power are not. The rag joint seperates the column from the sector which is where the lines hook up to assist you in steering.
I like the stock tilts myself.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Either the Ididit or Flaming River columns work well. I used a stainless tilt Flaming River column in my truck and it does what it should and was a direct plug in to the existing harness.

I bought the Ididit tilt version. It will not be a factor for power steering or not. Check these guys out too (Zigs Street Rods). If you have questions call them. At the time when I bought mine I searched everywhere and they had the best deal.

Re: ididit questions

If you want "cheap" and "good" get a van tilt. They are original GM and bolt in with very little modification.
