Question 69 GMC c10 body on 77 GMC 4x4 Frame ?s

I have a 69 GMC C10 that I am thinking about putting the body on a 77 GMC K10. I was wondering if anyone here had done this and would have any idea what I am getting myself into if I decide to do this swap.

I have never done it personally. But a friend of mine put a 57- 59 body on a 76 frame and it as a lot of work. I don't know the details but from what he said it was a pain in the a$$. good luck with your project.

I have heard that the wheel base is not the same, so your in for some major modifications. I was considering this myself, when deciding what to do with my 72 2WD. I ended up finding another 72 4X4 and went with that instead.

Chevyman, wlcome to the board. I was hopeing you'd come over here...not enough Ohioans here. Let alone from here in Columbus.
They guy i told you to get ahold of is on this board...screen name is mudder.
The wheel base deal was on the short bed if I am not mistaken...I think the long bed has always been 127 inch.

67/77 chevy stepside 4x4

Took a good week to swap this thng over. Had a really awesome brother-in-law helping. A 67shortbed 2wheel drive truck and a 77 4x4 shortbed are different wheel bases. I can tell you that. Do some research. Measure! If you can weld and cut and have something to lift a cab with its no biggie!

Thanks for all the information. I did see the first post about the Ohio meet. I would love to go but already have plans for that day. That is one sweet truck you got ther mudder. When it comes to GM vehicles i like them all. I got 5 trucks and 2 monte carlos currently and they are all great.
