going to look at a blazer tonight

Headed out in a few to go check out a blazer. I have a question about it being a 4speed. I'm not sure if i have ever seen one with a 4speed in person. I have seen few on here but i need to know if that hurts its value or not. I also know its a personal opinion but a few opinions are better than none in a case where i have no idea. Its is a 72 blazer that from a distance looks decent, there is no motor but the rest is there and hopefully isnt a rust bucket. I will take some pics and let ya know how it goes........let me know quick as i will be there in about an hour....sorry for the short notice but the guy finally called me back this afternoon...

It may limit who will buy it but in my opinion those looking for a 4-speed will have a tough time finding one and will pay a little more for one.

Re: going to look at a blazer tonight

My opinion is the 4 speed adds value. At least to me. There are two kinds of automatic transmissions: those that have quit working and those that will quit working...

A strong running Blazer with a SM-465 (4sp) is fun to drive. I do it everyday, never gets old.

Looks like a solid candidate, I would get a factory assembly manual and start a build thread. There is a lot of parts that have got to go back together. Wit a build thread, you can get good input where every thing is positioned, any small items missing, etc..
Whats the asking price for this project?

Heck yeah! In my shoes, I would of opted for the Ramen noodle diet for a week or two, forked over the cash. Nice Score!

Re: going to look at a blazer tonight

Pretty solid blazer.. little bit of rust on both floor boards but rockers are all good. It was originally bronze/copper. No options to speak of other than a posi in the back according to spid. New 2.5 inch lift maybe 4" but i think 2.5. Battery box has rust thru as does the inner fender under battery. Fenders are solid and the doors are solid with only surface rust. Has both front and rear bumpers that are straight seats look to be out of a newer blazer so not sure if they will bolt up? The rear bedsides and tailgate look to be good just surface rust.....But it has been repainted and like alot of us have found out that can hide alot of stuff. My plan is to hopefully time willing get it put back together minus a motor and get the 73up seats bolted in and drag it to the Portland swap meet and sale it. I bought a booth with the intentions of finding a rig to take but wish i would have found it alittle sooner so this may hang out with me till next year if i dont get what i want to before april 4th...its coming quick...

Nice score. Too bad they put that sun roof in that single wall top. Looks repairable though.

Re: going to look at a blazer tonight

I finally trailered the old girl home last night. I'm real happy with the condition of the blazer once we pulled her out of her garage with very little light and into the sunshine. I had about a 45 mile trip back home and i couldn't believe how many heads turned to check her out. Kinda thinking about keeping her.
