We'd like to introduce our Hood Strut Kit for 81-91 Chevy & GMC Squarebody Trucks & SUV's.
They will work with factory inner fenders, no inner fenders, SloshTubz, & most custom inner fenders.

Looks good. Does the hood open to the same height?

We designed our kit to have the hood open about even with the top of the cab for a nice look at shows.

It's roughly 27" from the top of the radiator support to the bottom edge of the hood in the center of the truck.

If you need more access you can simply pop the struts off the ball studs on one end & then use a temporary hood prop.

At your own discretion, you can move the pivot points a little to gain more hood opening (Scoti did in the picture above) but we designed our kit & pivot point location for the best result with the struts provided.

At the current time we do not have plans for a kit for the 73-80 trucks since it is a completely different setup.

Buy this kit! It works great I have had mine for about 5 years with zero issue. Awesome product for a small price. Really updates the functionality of these older trucks!

We have never tested them on a fiberglass hood.
My concern would be the strength of the mounting points vs. the strength of the strut.
