Radiator question for 59
Anyone know of a bolt in radiator for my 59 GMC with an LS swap? So far google has not been good to me on this one.
Dave

Re: Radiator question for 59
Most of the big players like Walker can probably produce one for a price. I have no clue as to what might swap over out of another rig.

Re: Radiator question for 59
i used an ebay alumnium one, had to adapt the hose sizes from radiator to the ls1 waterpump inlet and outlet, there's always the crossflow radiator conversions, rather spendy though..

Re: Radiator question for 59
Here ya go, I took these pic's at a car show in Oroville,CA.
He's using a 2000 Camero Rad and fan in his Chevy , I'm doing the same on my GMC but with a Chevy rad support. This will require a mod to the hood latch mount. To install the Camero rad in the Chevy support just requires clipping the lower inner mount braces to allow the rad to set down. The top is held in place with a couple of clips to a piece of sheet metal sandwiched in between the support and the latch panel.

Re: Radiator question for 59
I had my OE radiator modified when I couldn't see how the heck to make the camaro radiator (or Silverado radiator) work. Cost a bloody fortune.
There's nothing off the shelf - you either make hoses work with adapters on an SBC radiator or you fabricate a Camaro radiator in there or you have an OE style adapted (they move the neck, replace the cores, etc)

Re: Radiator question for 59
Dave: Using the original but slightly modified core support, I installed a late model Corvette radiator in support of my 5.3. Fits pretty nicely. My problem will be stuffing a fan between the engine and radiator since I am using a different frame setup than most. Dug
