3200?? Wtf?

Looking at insurance for my truck, I happened to glance at my current insurance card (I have comp on it right now in case it burns down in my driveway) and saw the truck model is listed as a 3200.

I'm assuming this is a typo on State Farm's part (Jake must've been sleepy working at 3am) as I've never seen any info on a 3200. But I could be wrong. Since this truck was built in the 80's and is a body on a C-10 frame with engine out of ?? and shortcuts all over the place, the cab could've been from a tow truck. The dimensions of the fenders seem to suggest 3100.

Anyone ever hear of a 3200 model, 1950 or otherwise?

Re: 3200?? Wtf?

Yes, there is a 3200 model truck.

With that being said, I don't believe the 3200 showed up until 55 in the 2nd series trucks.

The AD trucks never had a 3200. A regular cab truck would've been a 3104 model.

Yep, 3200 is the half-ton long bed. I've got one in the driveway. 3100 is the half-ton short bed. It's more stylish these days but it won't fit a full sheet of plywood.

The link in my signature will drop you on a 56 truck page, scroll down to "year index" and select the year you want. In that manual it will list all the truck models and specs for each...

Re: 3200?? Wtf?

My 56 is a 3200 series. As said already it's a long bed half ton. Don't know if they were made prior to 1955. Likely State Farm looked up half ton on a chart and then picked one.

Re: 3200?? Wtf?

That's the site I was looking for!

As I suspected, State Farm has the info wrong.

Also, if I'm reading this right, the 1/2T only had one box size, the 3/4T just a tad longer and the 1T longer yet. Not that I plan on changing the box anytime soon or at all.

For 1950 such as yours that looks to be correct going by the chart. Butttt... from mid 55-57 they made a medium length 1/2 ton and called it a 3200. This is what my truck is. Clear as mud huh..

Re: 3200?? Wtf?

That's nothing, my 48 is a 6400 and the title that the state gave me says 3500.
