Honestly I don’t know how you guys do it. I would go crazy. A friend lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and he lives his weekends in the Spring/Summer like it his final days on earth.

Re: Winters Last Grasp (Hopefully)

Rich,

I lived in So Cal for about ten years from 93-04. I moved back to NY because I couldn't stand the lack of change. I had this fear that one day I would get up and I would be 60 and I wouldn't know how I got there. It's funny you mention your friend since while in CA I rarely ever ate outside. I visited relatives back east once in the spring and it was the first really nice day and we ate outside. I realized then that in CA you take the weather for granted. One other thing to remember when it's 110 and you leave a wrench in the sun for 2 seconds and it burns your hand, or when you go from a/c house to a/c car to a/c job we will be comfortable outside. What I have found is there is no perfect place to live. I do miss the ocean, no bugs and rust free cars thought.

Jim

Re: Winters Last Grasp (Hopefully)

I love summer but for two years now we have not had a summer , always before it would dry up for 3 or 4 months you could go to car shows and it was awesome ! But the last few years its done nothing but rain , it rained almost every weekend last summer they was only two or three pretty weekends the whole summer , I hope it dont do that this year ,,,,

Re: Winters Last Grasp (Hopefully)

Winter?! Sure doesn't feel like it here! We got hardly anything this year. But then again it is the desert....high desert for me since I'm at 7,000 ft.

Re: Winters Last Grasp (Hopefully)

Yes, my truck stays outside.

This sits in the garage instead.

The other bay is clear for my wife's car and once the weather turns nice enough, the motorcycle will be in there. The truck is my daily driver (40 miles round trip) so I don't know how much a garage would help it anyway. The trick will be to stop it from rusting away. I've never had a vehicle leak as bad ad this one. I have done several cowl patches and it still leaks like no tomorrow. I bought sealant for the window but it has been to cold to apply it. I plan on pulling the bed this summer to clean and paint the rear frame. If I can get to the front I will do that too.

I've been dying for it to stop snowing since I have a set of 15 x 8 rally's for it but have to keep the skinny's on as long as the weather is bad.

Jim

I know what you mean. I am just over Washington state line about 20 miles from Coeur D'Alene and we cherish warm days.

Re: Winters Last Grasp (Hopefully)

I have been in Las Vegas since Oct 1st living in my motorhome... So far I have no complaints, other than idiot California drivers here in Vegas.
I will go back to South Dakota in May. Start workin' on the 68 again. Then once it starts getting chilly and any potential for snow... I will come back to Las Vegas next Sept/Oct.
I do not miss the "season" of winter at all.
