Engine Down and Pinion Up Angle

Doing some reading on my LS swap regarding driveline angles. Basically, what I have taken away is that the engine/tranny down angle should be around 3 degrees and match the differential pinion up angle.

I will be installing a new Moser crate 12 bolt. Part of the build sheet asks the question if the truck has been lowered, I presume so they will know to alter the differential mounts from stock to give more upward pinion angle and compensate for the lowering.

I'll also be installing a drop center rear cross member with new CPP trailing arms. Now these crossmembers also state they are modified to compensate for lowered vehicles. The trailing arm pivot is moved to accomplish this. My question is, if I put on both of these parts, could the combined effect of both of them put my drive angles seriously out of whack? I have a 4/5 ECE drop kit. 72 C10 longbed. Thanks for any ideas!

Re: Engine Down and Pinion Up Angle

So basically, I'm wondering if I should tell Moser the truck is at stock height and have them build the differential at the stock angle, letting the drop crossmember compensate for the geometry changes associated with lowering?

Re: Engine Down and Pinion Up Angle

I would discuss the details with them.
