Not a bad start, not too sure what to think of the $6000 starting bid tho...guess thats why there have been no bids. I would like to see the cab floor and how he handled channeling the body..never seen one up close on a 73-87. ...Jeff |

I agree, good start but still a wyas to go. Easily dump another $6K into it.

Looks like a nice 1/2 done truck. The interior still needs a lot. The engine compartment needs a serious detailing. I don't like the gas filler or the six cylinder radiator. He says new engine, but it might be one of those 'new 50k miles ago...' engines and I'd bet the trans and rear end are normal wrecking yard fare. Around here thats a 3-4k dollar truck and that's only because it has nice paint.

what exactly is a channeled body? Im assuming its the opposite of a body lift.. and the metal that the cab sits on has to be removed?

Channelling the body is cutting the floor out and raising it up a few inches. It makes the body lower, but you would lose headroom. If you look at the pictures of the bed, you can see that the wheelhouses are closer to the bed rail than stock. I am curious to see how the cab floor was handled as well.

Old school term is "channeled" as in they create a channel for the frame to ride in, so the frame goes up, and the body come down.
The new term is "Body Drop". It's the same thing just a different era....
