April 2014 ToTM
OK fellow truckies this is the contest you have all been waiting for. This month we will compile and honor those that set the basis for our truckie world. The theme of this month’s TOTM is
No Foolin’, I drive it! Yep, you guessed it. The theme for this month will be our less than perfect specimens; our beaters, our beasts, our rust-buckets, our TRUCKS. Now here are the rules or criteria for the vehicles To be an eligible beater * Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys. * The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. * It must be road worthy and currently legal (until the cops catch you) to be on the road. * It must have an unmatching paint scheme (no all primers) * It must have at least three other distinctly viewable issues. This includes things like:
To Nominate: You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. Nominees will run through March 23. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up by March 24 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of April 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of April 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Re: April 2014 ToTM
Hi I'm Tom McCauley, I'd like to nominate my 66 C-10 chevy stepside 292 6 banger hotrodded with stock 4 speed. It has plenty of cancer on the floorboards and dents all over on the cab corners and rear. The driver's side stepside fender have rot on front and rear. If better pictures are needed I will take some more. Please let me know if it meets standards. Thanks.

Re: April 2014 ToTM
Here is my 64 LWB, it gets plenty of stares when I pull thru the drive thru at Mc Dondalds or pull up to the post office to get my mail. It has rust all over it, a broken windshield, one windshield wiper, typical rust in the floor and rockers.... Kinda fun just to watch the stares and jaws drop that not only does it run, but someone would drive it that way!

Re: April 2014 ToTM
This is my 1965 Chevrolet C10 long wheel base, step side.
beat up-ness credentials : dents in both doors, rust in both doors, both front fenders rusted through, corner of hood... holes in doors from old mirrors from the past... paint flaking off... floorboards are mostly rust... water leaks into the cab, original bed wood starting to wear out... But it's mine and I like it. -W p.s. different photos on my truck site in my sig. line along with any other relevant details, here. Last edited by Woogeroo; 03-18-2014 at 06:22 AM. |

Re: April 2014 ToTM
Its definitely a driver. You'll most often find it in my fire station parking lot, 85 miles round trip commute from home. Rust, tan fender, blue hood, primer. Built for almost no money from an old freebie longbed.

Re: April 2014 ToTM
I've never been able to show off my dents before.
The passenger front fender has been repainted the wrong shade of orange, kind of hard to see from the pictures. Also that twisted up bumper is long gone, I have a sport bumper on it now.

I'll jump in on this one. Here's my '67 Stepside. For the first time I'm proud to say the rockers are shot, fenders need a bit of work and have a couple of holes in the doors. Its a work in progress but will be driving it in it current state this year.

Re: April 2014 ToTM
I apologize for the rule-bending patina on the hood and lack of multi-colored panels, but there's plenty of good old rot everywhere else on Blue Bell. Not only did I drive it around, she pulled 7000# of horse trailer all over NW Wisconsin last summer. Never missed a beat, other than the issue with keeping the turn signals and brake lights working. Hard to believe there'd be a ground issue on it. 6.2 Diesel worked hard all summer. Every time we got somewhere, the holes in the sheet metal would be bigger.

Re: April 2014 ToTM
I'll throw in my 1950. All stock except the seat. She'll go 50mph with the petal to the floor but its great at hauling and getting funny looks at Home Depot.
At a local show Hauling a little soil Most are afraid of the gaping rust holes. Well that and the dead mice.
