WTB: 1972 GMC Front Dana 44 passenger side axle shaft

I need the passenger side inner and outer axle shaft for the front of my 1972
GMC Jimmy. It is a Dana 44 open knuckle. Good usable condition would be great. Send me a message with Freight to 80216. Thank you!

If 72K5 doesn't have just the passenger side that I need. I will hit you up for both. How much are you thinking for both? Thanks for reply.

do yourself a favor measure from the center of the u joint to the end of each shaft. there were a couple of different lengths for the dana 44. learned this the hard way with the 70

Re: WTB: 1972 GMC Front Dana 44 passenger side axle shaft

Unfortunately when I got into this side of the axle I found that the po had replaced it with an axle from a 1974 blazer. It had the infamous yellow writing on it from a junk yard stating what it came out of. I have no way to know what the true length should be. I know that the way it had worn out the spindle seal something in there wasn't right.

OLD Grey, For sanity purposes, you would be better off replacing both axles, inner and outer. But, be aware that the cross was upgraded at the end off 1972. Dana went to a bigger cross/u-joint in 1973. I've replaced all my pre '72 Dana 44 axles with the larger u-joint axles. Your choice as to which axle shafts to use.

Re: WTB: 1972 GMC Front Dana 44 passenger side axle shaft

72k5, I appreciate you taking a look for me. I may re-think what the plan was for this front axle. More than likely, I will get a new set of axles for both sides.
