Smile New To Board 1969 c20

Hello all,

I'm new to the board.

Just picked up this old c20 from a neighbor of mine. It was originally a m465/292ci truck. The 292 had been switched out for a 350 before he bought it in 1990, he drove it for two to three years and then parked it for the last nineteen years (because he didn't want to insure it). After looking at this truck set for the last twenty years I decided to see if my neighbor was willing to sell it. Ended up trading him a 1978 f250 I picked up for $100.

Truck is going to need rockers and a passenger side cab corner; however, other than that the cab is solid. It will also need some work with the bed.

When I finish it, it will make a nice addition to my 1991 Syclone and 1984 C10.

Sad to say it is also less rusty then my 1979 C10 project.

Sean

Syclone is in storage at my father's house. It has 27k original miles on it. Going to get a new fuel pump in it this summer and put a few more miles on it.

Welcome to the board!

Cool truck! A shortened C-20 is not something you see every day!

Re: New To Board 1969 c20

I don't get to work on the 1969 until I finish the 1984 c10 for my girlfriend.

At least that gives me time to decide how I want to do this truck. Still debating if it is going to stay 8 lug or go to five lug, if I want to keep the 350 in it or put a 292 in it out of an 80s model that I have laying around.

Only thing I'm sure of at the moment is that it will get front disc brakes.

Re: New To Board 1969 c20

I went to buy the 1984 C10 SWB for my girlfriend. The guy was asking $700 for C10, and I'm not one to dicker more of the give me the price you want for it. The fellow offered it to me for $500, and mentioned that old ford f250 he had with a 460 in it and told me to make an offer on it. I told him either way I was going to get the C10, that I would call him back and make an offer for the set after my girlfriend and I talked about it. Offered him $600 for the pair. Drove the C10 home and used a wrecker to get the ford (steering gear out of it). Was originally going to pull the 460 out of the ford and save it for something and crush it (can never have enough spare parts sitting around imho) because I didn't like the fact that he took a cutting torch to the frame to put the 460 in (he cut almost a 4" x 18" patch out of the ford's frame to fit the passenger exhaust manifold); however, I'm just glad I got the c20 I've been looking at for the last twenty years, its a bonus that it only cost me $100.
